Covered yarns are functional yarns. By using the right yarn designs and selecting appropriate materials, the yarn can fulfil a whole host of requirements. The diagram below illustrates the yarn construction of covered yarn.
A multitude of customer-specific, process-specific and requirement-specific yarns can be produced by combining various materials and by changing the density of the covering.
To provide some examples, we process textured and smooth multifilament or monofilament yarns made from polyamide or polyester, wires and strands made from silver-coated copper, stainless steel, pure silver, brass, elastane, rubber, microfibre and fleece yarns and water-soluble, self-adhesive or flame-retardant special fibres.
